7th Youth in Governance Lecture

Seventh Youth in Governance Lecture was held at Muhammad Ali Jinnah University, Karachi on 9th June, 2011. Prof. Haider Abbas Rizvi, Associate Professor, Department of Psychology at University of Karachi was the speaker for the lecture while Prof. Dr. Abdul Wahab, President, Muhammad Ali Jinnah University, Karachi was the Chief Guest. The lecture was attended by 220 students.

This lecture was part of the series of lectures organized all over Pakistan to educate young minds about the hazards of corruption.

The speaker started the lecture with a definition of corruption and stated some of its major causes. The students were then given a task to identify and enlist the reasons behind corruption out of a list provided to them. Prof. Abbas then discussed the enlisted reasons with the help of examples. The lecture ended with a question and answer session.

The Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Abdul Wahab, while giving the concluding remarks quoted examples of people whose ideas and actions resulted in major positive changes in society.
Plaques were presented to the honorable guests at the end.
