7th YinG Workshop was held on the 29th and 30th of January, 2010 at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur

The Seventh Youth in Governance Workshop was held on the 29th and 30th of January , 2010. The venue was the Auditorium of Shah Abdul Latif University,Khairpur.

The participants of the workshop were the students from Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur,Mehran University, a lot of Universities from Karachi also were amongst the participants as well as the neighbouring universities and institutes in the region. Gender equality was kept in mind while inviting students along with the coordinators from various institutions and faculties of Interior Sind. A total of about two hundred students participated in the workshop.

The two-day workshop had seven sessions each on the first and second day.
The 1st day's inaugural session started with the recitation of a few pertinent verses from the Holy Quran and accordingly followed by a recitation of Naat.
An introduction of Transparency International-Pakistan and the Youth in Governance program was given by Dr. N. I. Khowaja, Director Projects, and TI-P. He informed the gathering of the goals and objectives of TI-P, its role in curbing corruption with the help of strategies, civil society, government, various media sources, and by educating the youth. He stated that the presence of corruption distorts the decision-making process. This directly leads to an absence of equal protection under the law, which becomes secondary to the private interest of individuals and groups and undermines the very foundations of transparent governance. He emphasized on the role of youth in this regard as the youth of today would be the leaders of tomorrow and the society had great hopes in the youth of Pakistan. He admired the participation of the youth in the fight against corruption, and expressed his hope that if the youth joined hands to fight corruption they could bring a revolution in the country.
