9th Youth in Governance workshop was held at Mirpur university of Science and Technology (MUST) on 19th and 20th October 2010.The participants of the workshop were university students from Islamabad, Kohat, Swabi, Peshawar, Lahore, Muzaffarabad and Faisalabad.

Inaugural Session:

2nd Youth in Governance Convention 2010

Held at Regent Plaza Karachi
On 24th & 25th September 2010

A two day convention was organized by Transparency International – Pakistan (TI-Pakistan) on 24th & 25th September 2010 at Regent Plaza Karachi. There were 200 participants from 60 different Universities of Pakistan

Inaugural Session:
The event started with recitation from the Holy Quran by Mr. Talish a student of University of Agriculture Faisalabad; this session was chaired by H. N. Akhter, former federal secretary to the Government of Pakistan who was the Chief Guest.

8th Youth in Governance Workshop at GIFT University of Gujranwala 3rd & 4th August 2010

The eighth Youth in Governance Workshop was held on August 3rd and 4th 2010. The venue was the Gujranwala Institute of Future Technologies (GIFT), Gujranwala.
The participants of the workshop were the students from Punjab and Sindh namely, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Khairpur, Lahore, Bahawalpur and Sargodha. Breakup of participants was 100 male students, 25 female students and 10 coordinators from the participating universities.
The other guests from the Irrigation department, Educational Institutions, media and organizations also attended the workshop.

4th YinG Club Debate Competition, Peshawar

4th YinG Club Debate Competition, Peshawar, was held on June 9, 2010 at FAST-National University, Peshawar campus in Collaboration with Sarhad University of Science and Technology and FAST National University. 24 debaters from 10 universities participated in the competition and was attended by an audience of 150 people. The program started at 9:35 AM after the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Ghiasul Haq, Director FAST-NU Peshawar campus and Inaugural Address by the Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Salim ur Rehman, Vice chancellor Sarhad University.

5th YinG Lecture

5th YinG lecture was organized at Greenwich University on 25th May 2010. Professor Santosh Kumar of Shah Abdul Latif University was invited as the speaker to express his views on the topic of ‘How can youth help in combating corruption’. This lecture was attended by 80 students including prominent faculty members.

The lecture started by stating some of the issues that are plaguing our nation. The most important is the attitude of people towards this menace. Pakistanis as a nation do not appreciate the fact that we cannot survive until we have a cure against this disease.

First YinG Drama Festival 25th March, 2010

The first Youth in Governance drama festival was held at Usman Institute of Technology (UIT) Karachi on 25th March, 2010.Judges for the plays were

a. Mr. Khalid Anam,a prominent T.V ,theatre and Radio artist .

b.Eng. Muhammad Ghazanfar Ullah, Professor, UIT.

c.Fawad Gillani, CEO.F.G. International Karachi

YinG Club launching Seminar / Debate competition at The University of Faisalabad 16th March 2010

A seminar and a debate competition was held at the University of Faisalabad for the launch of Youth in Governance Club, where prominent speakers from the university participated.
The Seminar was organized by Mr.Aslam Arts and literature department incharge in the University of Faisalabad.

Seventh Youth in Governance Workshop

The Seventh Youth in Governance Workshop was held on the 29th and 30th of January, 2010. The venue was the Auditorium of Shah Abdul Latif University,Khairpur.

United Nations anticorruption day lecture at Dadabhoy Institute

United Nations’ (UN) International Anti-Corruption Day was observed on the 9th of December, 2009, Wednesday, across the globe including Pakistan with the aims of raising public’s awareness against corruption and the steps that the public can take to counter this evil.
